Opal L. McDonald Whitman, 84, Anderson, died December 10, 2003 at her residence after an extended illness. She was born September 19, 1919 in Bellefontaine, Ohio, and resided in the Anderson area for most of her life. She was a homemaker. She was a volunteer for RSVP and a member of the Jolly Keenagers. She is survived by her children, Howard K. Whitman of Louisville, Kentucky, Jack & wife Diana Whitman of Severn, Maryland and Sharon J. & husband Mike Smith of Anderson; siblings, Robert & wife Joy McDonald of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Gladys Edwards of Bellefontaine, Ohio and Nadine & husband Phil Wright of Chardon, Ohio; grandchildren, Rhonda & husband Mike Montgomery of Louisville, Kentucky, Julianne & husband Owen McWilliams of Louisville, Kentucky, Kara & husband David Reilly of Louisville, Kentucky, Chad & wife Shannon Whitman of Crofton, Maryland, Kelly Whitman of Severn, Maryland, Ashlee Whitman of Columbus, Kansas, Gina Whitman of Severn, Maryland, Sheri Jones & Tim Krebs of Anderson, Susanne Roudebush & Mark Hare of Atlanta, Georgia and Michelle Boyer of Anderson; great grandchildren, Kevin and Shaun Montgomery of Louisville, Kentucky, Grace, John and Jennings McWilliams of Louisville, Kentucky, Kelsea, and Hannah Whitman of Crofton, Maryland, Jessica, and Ryan Jones of Anderson and Dylan Hare of Atlanta, Georgia; several nieces and nephews; also surviving are her special friends at Fairington Apartments. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard F. Whitman in 1988 and her parents, Herschel & Irene Dally McDonald.
