Opal J. Proctor, 94 of Edwardsburg, died Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Heartland Health Care, Three Rivers. She was born January 17, 1917 in Neligh, Nebraska to William and Katherine (Peters) Dohse. She married Harry O. Proctor on March 7, 1936 in Oneill, Nebraska.
He preceded her in death on April 6, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Pearl Gapinski, Evelyn Sooy, Wilda “Tootie” Black, and Sibylla Messner; and one brother, Lyle Dohse.Opal was a lifetime resident of the area and a member of Hope United Methodist Church, Edwardsburg.
She is survived by one son, Harry (Sharon) Proctor of Edwardsburg; three grandchildren, Rhonda (James) Stover of Cassopolis, David Proctor of Edwardsburg and Julie Daum of Constantine; four step grandchildren, Joseph (Helen) Bouterse of Indianapolis, Indiana, James Bouterse of Warsaw, Indiana, Jeffery (Cheri) Bouterse of Colon and Toni (Lynn) Butts of Warsaw, Indiana; four great grandchildren, Clayton “C.J.” Stover, Ryan Stover, Jessica Daum and Melanie Daum; five step great grandchildren, James Bouterse, Jillian Bouterse, BreAnn Butts, C.J. Butts and Sierra Scaife; and one sister, Nolma Knapp of Neligh, Nebraska.
