Opal G. (Briggs) Lankford, 87 formerly of Chariton, IA, passed away Monday at her residence in Knoxville, IA. Opal, wife of the late Leonard Thompson and Robert D. Lankford, is survived by two sons: Terry L. Thompson and Mary (Shriver) of Knoxville, Robert D. Lankford, Jr. and Hazel Schakel of Plano, IA; 9 grandchildren and 7 step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
