Ona Ryg, 92, formerly of Ottawa died Sunday morning, February 24, at Gibson City Annex Extended Care Facility in Gibson City.
Mrs. Ryg was born on August 31, 1920, in Brookfield Twp, to Alvin and Lela (Swader) Hepner. She was employed at the Seneca Shipyard during World War II. She married Kermet M. Ryg, on April 27, 1946, in Marseilles. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ottawa. She is survived by one daughter, Pamela (Charles) Aubry, of Gibson City, two sons, Gaylon Ryg, of Dwight, and Martin Ryg, of Schaumburg, 7 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kermet, on March 5, 1986, 2 sisters, Marcella Peddicord and Lois Nodland, and 4 brothers, Burdette, Adrian, Wayne, and Roger Hepner.
