It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Omega Young Jr., 63, of Eutawville, South Carolina, who transitioned on Thursday, July 27, 2023.

Those who have suffered much, have lived long. Present suffering is not enjoyable, but life would be little without it. God with all His mighty power, who is too wise to make a mistake and to just to do wrong saw fit on Thursday, July 27 at 7:20 pm at Orangeburg Hospital to quietly take the soul of Mr. Omega (Jackson) Young, Jr.

Jackson was born on April 6, 1960, in Eutawville, South Carolina to the late Omega Young, Sr. & Mamie Lee Young. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia “Dolly” Young. In 1978, following an automobile accident, Jackson continued to worship as a member of Live Oak A.M.E. Church in Vance, S.C.

Jackson grew up in Eutawville, S.C. He attended Vance Elementary School through the fifth grade and later transferred to St. James Elementary School. Jackson in graduated from Roberts High School in Holly Hill, SC in 1979.

Jackson enjoyed softball and baseball games at Riverside. He enjoyed watching the NFL games, The Pittsburgh Steelers were his favorite team.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: four brothers: Nathaniel Washington of Holly Hill, SC, Irving (Laura Mae) of New Jersey City, NJ, Wardaniel and Phillip Young of the home; five sisters: Patsy Young of Lebanon, PA, Doris Young of the home, Carol Young of Dallas, TX, Valaria Young of Charlotte, NC, and Ophelia Young of Charlotte, NC; Jackson didn’t have any children, but he help raised, Aki’ whom he called “Iron Head” and “The Doctor.” However, he loved all his nephews and nieces. and gave them special names. Jackson has one Aunt, Betty Fowler, whom he loved dearly, and she calls him “Jackson Five”. A special cousin, Charles Young; ten nieces, twelve nephews, three great-great nieces, five great-great nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
