Omar Gonzalez, age 84, of Wilton, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 3. He was the husband of 56 years of Sonia B. Gonzalez. Omar was born on April 20, 1927 in Santa Barbara, Heredia, Costa Rica, son of the late Feliciano and America Murillo Gonzalez. He worked as a tool and die maker for many years, mostly with Burndy Corporation. He enjoyed playing organized soccer in Costa Rica and Norwalk.
In addition to his wife, Omar is survived by his six children, Giselle Hanson and her husband Kenneth, Thais Majeski, Ibel Hartlett and her husband Ted, Manuel Gonzalez and his wife Laura, Heidi Barrios and her husband Digby, and Gerald Gonzalez and his wife Gladys, 18 grandchildren, Erik, Carly, B.J., Ashley, Jessica, Sarah, Jonathan, Stephen, Tina, Theo, Derrick, Danny, Sonni, D.J., Henry, Elena, Adam and Alexis, one great granddaughter, Mia, a brother, German Gonzalez, a sister, Luz Marina, and many nieces and nephews.
