Waterbury- Mrs. Olivia Q. Jackson of Traverse St. died Tuesday, April 20, at her home with her family. She was the widow of Charles H. Jackson, Sr.

Mrs. Jackson was born July 9, 1927 in Montgomery, AL daughter of the late Gaston Williams and Jessie Mae Holt.

She had worked as an inspector at the Uniroyal Rubber and Footwear plant and retired from the YWCA of Waterbury as a matron and sewing instructor. She was also a sewing instructor at the Woodrow Wilson Community School and was a partner in hope for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital fighting childhood cancer.

She is survived by two sons and a step son, Gaston D. (Earlene) Jackson of Dover. DE, Glenn E. Jackson of Naugatuck and Clarence H. Jackson, Jr of Montgomery, AL; one daughter and a step daughter, Pamela A. Jackson of Waterbury and Carolyn J. Johnson of Montgomery, AL and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
