At 4:50 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2015, our Heavenly Father decided to call Olivia Howard, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Olivia was 65 at the time of her passing. Her husband, Dan, and daughter, Erin, were by her side.
Olivia or “Oly” as Dan called her, found amusement in nagging, being difficult, and doing whatever she wanted. When she knew she was getting under your skin her big laugh would burst out and you knew she was just messing with you. It seemed like she had six hundred jobs in her lifetime. In one year, she had a personal best of 7 jobs.
Oly also played softball for several years, the love of which she passed onto her daughter, Erin. She never missed a chance to watch Erin play. Oly picked up golf later in life and would sneak off to the course to practice. Dan was very confused as she kept getting closer and closer to beating him. Then he figured out what she was doing. Oly also had a special place in her heart for her son-in-law, Michael, and her face would light up whenever he would walk into the room. Unfortunately, due to her illness, she never really got a chance to know her granddaughter, Kenda, but she adored Erin and Michael’s oldest daughter, Macie. Oly always looked forward to seeing her nieces and nephews and reminiscing over her youth. She loved laughing and being crazy whenever she could.
Oly is survived by her husband, Dan; daughters, Kimberly Howard and ErinLokteff; Erin’s husband, Michael; and their two children, Macie and Kenda. She is also survived by several brothers and sisters, Phil Ortega, Manuel Montoya, Nacho Montoya, Angie Meza, Betty Cons, David Montoya, and Henry Montoya.
Oly was preceded in death by her parents, Margarito and Delores Montoya, as well as her sister, Alice Hernandez.
