Oliver Barres Zug, “Barry” was born on February 4th, 1935 and passed away on Wednesday, January 4th, 2012. He was the beloved son of Jeanette (Barres) Zug and Charles Keller Zug Jr. He was also the loving and devoted husband of Anne (Mader) Zug. They would have celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary on February 1st. He lived in Upper Saucon and was a life-long member of Central Moravian Church. Barry attended the Moravian Preparatory School and transferred in his junior year to Blair Academy in Blairstown, New Jersey, where he graduated in June 1954. He maintained his close connection to Blair, serving his class for 25 years as the Class Representative. He served several years in the Army, stationed in Germany. He was a graduate of Lehigh University. A CPA, licensed life insurance & real estate agent and founder of Red Carpet Travel Agency of Philadelphia and Bethlehem. He was the former President of the Southern Lehigh Kiwanis Club and a long time active volunteer and supporter at Victory House. As a volunteer of the Moravian Museum and the Historic Bethlehem Partnership, he was involved in fund raising for the Moravian Museums Sisters House initiative and the annual Blueberry Festival. Survivors: include daughters: Janet Zug of Tunbridge, VT and her husband Tom Wells; Elizabeth McNey Yates of Harding Township, NJ and her husband Christopher. Sons: Henry Bruce Zug of Tunbridge, VT and his wife Pam Emery; and William E. McNey of Basking Ridge, NJ and his wife, Lisa. Five grandchildren: Allison and Maryanne Zug and William, Jack and Grace Elizabeth McNey. A brother, D. Brooks Zug and his wife Linda of Sherborn, MA; sister, Jeanette Zug Fulton and husband John of Annandale, VA and his dear uncle and aunt, Mr. & Mrs. Oliver Barres of Bethlehem. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his parents, brother, Charles Keller Zug III, and a son, Oliver Barres Zug, Jr.
