Oliver A. LaClair, 78, of Kalamazoo, Michigan passed away peacefully at his home at The Farm on Thursday, December 10, 2020 under the Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.

Oliver was born January 21, 1942 in Watertown, New York, the son of Oliver A., Sr. and Mary E. LaClair. Upon moving to Kalamazoo in 1956, Oliver attended the Kalamazoo Public Schools, graduating from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1960.

Oliver was a born salesman. During his high school years, he worked for Ben Brot at Hepps Clothing Store. He then moved into sales with New York Life Insurance Company and eventually, selecting Modern Neon Sign Company as his career endeavor, with the last 45 years as President and Owner. He loved this company and, even after retirement, continued to spend and enjoy mornings there.

Oliver loved his family and spent countless time attending sporting events, horse shows, school functions, graduations, and serving as President of the Comstock School Board for eight years. Many weekends during the Summer were spent with friends camping at Waffle Farm in Coldwater, Michigan. Most of all, he loved just being at The Farm, riding his John Deere tractor and mowing his endless lawn.

Oliver is survived and will be missed greatly by his wife, Mary Ann LaClair; his son, Mark Oliver (Susan) LaClair; a daughter, Pamela Renee (Dan) DeYoung; a sister, Mary Margaret (Ron) Powers; as well as his four grandchildren whom he loved dearly: Payton Rose DeYoung, Lauren Patrice LaClair, Brett Oliver LaClair, and Jack Davis LaClair. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Mary LaClair; his sister, Donna S. Kowalick; and his close friend, Thomas A. Cole.
