Olin E. Mehrer of Burlington died Sunday, September 9th at his residence with his loving family at his side. He was 92 years of age. Born in Florence, NJ, on October 16, 1919, he was the son of the late Earling and Mary Mehrer. A United States Army veteran, he served his country honorably during World War II receiving both the Purple Heart and the bronze star.

Formerly employed with Colorado Fuel and Iron in Roebling, he retired in 1984 after ten years of service as a water treatment operator for the Burlington City Water Department. An avid hunter, Mr. Mehrer was a member, past president and elected board governor of the Kinkora Buck Club. He also loved horse racing and could frequently be seen at Philadelphia Park. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings: Allyn, Alice, Erma, Milton and Earling, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jane (nee Freck) Mehrer, his children and their spouses: David and Kathleen Mehrer and Curt and Caroline Mehrer as well as two wonderful grandchildren, Kimberlee and Matthew.
