Olga (Cherpak) Skotnicki, 96, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8, 2013. She was the beloved wife of Edward S. Skotnicki for 73 years. Born in New Britain, daughter of the late George and Mary (Suchy) Cherpak, she was a lifelong resident of New Britain and a lifelong member of the Holy Trinity Orthodox Church and their Sisterhood. Olga graduated from New Britain High School in 1936 and spent her life devoted to her church and her family. She enjoyed cooking and spending time watching food networks. A beloved mother and grandmother, she leaves her two daughters, Elaine Hanson and her husband Forrest of Cheshire, Marie Machado of Newington, her four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She also leaves her sister Mary Cherpak of New Britain. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
