Reverend Olen L. Heck, Jr., 79, of Stonewood, passed away Friday, August 19, 2011 at United Hospital Center following an extended illness. He was born March 24, 1932 in Stonewood the son of the late Olen R. Heck, Sr. and Mollie Ervin Heck. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Mona Jean Stead Heck. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons; Olen Raymond Heck of Stonewood and David Lee Heck and wife Serenity of Stonewood; four daughters; Debra Jean Heck of Stonewood, Cindy Sue Ronne and husband Jeff of Canon Falls, MN, Chrystal Lynn McCloy and husband Doug of Stonewood and Penny Raye Ramsey and husband Tim of Bridgeport; fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren; three sisters; Hilda Earliwine of Texas, Barbara Hayes of Mannington, Delores Sapp of Texas and Helen Hayes of Mannington. He was preceded in death by two sisters; Betty Price and Cora lee Reed. Reverend Heck was a veteran having served in the US Air Force. He was retired from the Harrison County Board of Education and volunteered for years as a minister in local nursing homes and also jail ministry. He loved to read his Bible and preach. He was also the pastor at the Hopewell Baptist Church for 27 years. He was a faithful follower of Christ, was a loving husband, father and grandfather and he will be deeply missed.
