He was a veteran of World War II, a farmer and carpenter. He is survived by his wife, Geneva Cothren; two daughters, Gail Spoon of Little Rock, Arkansas, Charlotte Woods of Hazel Green; two sons, Mark J. Cothren and Phillip R. Cothren both of Hazel Green; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
