Oda “Virginia” Davis, 96, of Salem, departed this life on Monday, August 29, 2011 at the Salem Care and Rehab Center. She was born September 24, 1914 at Churchville in Lewis County, WV the daughter of the late Enos and Bertha Ann (Woofter) Hull. After 54 years of marriage she became the widow of R. Paul Davis, who passed away on June 16, 1989. She graduated from Lewis County High School at Weston was a devoted mother and housewife and a life long resident of West Virginia. She belonged to the Salem United Methodist Church. Virginia is survived by two sons; William and spouse Jane Davis of Salem and James and spouse Linda Davis of Falling Waters, WV; five grandsons; Nathan and spouse Sharry of Pheonix, Ariz., Tim and Spouse Susan of Purcellville, VA, Todd and spouse Kathy of Mt. Airy, MD, Mark of Moscow, Russia and Bryan Davis of Madison, WI; five great grandchildren, Alyssa, Rayna, Matt, Jordan, and Elisabeth Davis and Brandon Lee; one sister, Brennice Cole of Salem and one brother Dwayne Hull of Friendship, NY. Siblings preceded in death are baby sister Myrtle Bell, Mildred Rogers of Buckhannon, Bernandine Sisson of Bolivar, NY, William Hull of Walkersville, and John Hull of Jane Lew. Virginia enjoyed hunting and fishing until she was 83 years old. She was an avid quilter and raised a garden all of her life. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and she will be missed by all who knew her.
