BATH – Yvon Gerard Langlais, 69, of The Moorings at 125 Congress Ave., died peacefully, Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Maine Medical Center after complications from a cranial aneurysm.

He was born on November 22, 1940 in Berlin, NH., the son of Gilman A. Langlais and Irene (Maurais) Langlais. He attended schools in Berlin including St. Regis Parochial Elementary School and three years at Notre Dame High School. After surviving a serious aneurysm rupture at the age of 17 and receiving extensive rehabilitation at the Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center he was able to graduate from Berlin High School in 1961.

He moved with his family to Bath in 1963. He received further occupational training through Goodwill Industries and worked locally. He was most proud of having worked 26 years for Tina Van Reenan as a dishwasher and janitor at both Kristina”s Restaurant & Bakery and her quiche factory. He retired from Kristina”s Restaurant & Bakery at 63 in 2004.

He was a parishioner of St. Mary”s Catholic Church and enjoyed attending the church fairs. He was a member of the Bath Area Senior Citizen”s Center and was a regular at the cribbage games held every Tuesday. He spent his time listening to classical music while doing counted cross stitch.

He was predeceased by his mother on December 18, 1990 and his father on February 3, 2000.

He is survived by his sister Janine and her husband Nathan Lipfert of Woolwich; a nephew, Isaac Lipfert, of Oakland, Ca. and a niece, Sophia, and her husband Jesse Artiaga, of Brownsville, TX; and by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
