Wintie Hanna Templeton, 88, of Round Pond, Maine entered into eternal rest on June 25, 2011. She was born in New Harbor, Maine on June 24, 1923, the daughter of the late Morrill and Madolyn Hanna. Wintie married her sweetheart, Willie Templeton, Sr. on August 17, 1946. She is survived by her sister, Nancy McCarthy; her brother and sister-in-law Harland and Myrtle Hanna; and her sister-in-law Marie Stevens; her daughter Madolyn Musick; son Willie Templeton, Jr. and his wife Anna; and son Jeff Templeton. She felt blessed to have 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and countless beloved friends. Wintie was pre-deceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Carroll and Norma Hanna; and her brother-in-law John McCarthy. Wintie’s service to the Lord was tireless and her work touched people from all over the world. She was honored to have this as her job, and it never seemed a chore to her. She was a truly dedicated member of the Round Pond United Methodist Church, a devoted member of the United Methodist Women, and served on the General Board of Global Ministries for 8 years. Wintie was a long-time member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was currently serving as the Pemaquid Chapter Chaplain. She honored her patriotic duty and even served in the Civil Air Patrol during World War II. Among the various other organizations to which Wintie dedicated her time, she belonged to the Beacon Chapter #202 of the Eastern Star, was a past Worthy Matron and had the honor of a lifetime membership. One of the things Wintie looked most forward to every week was volunteering at the coffee shop in Miles Memorial Hospital. She impacted her community and the world with her countless hours of service. It’s hard to describe the impact Wintie had on the lives of the people who loved her. Wintie had a tremendous amount of joy in her life but it scarcely compared to the joy she brought to others. She was a lesson to us all on how to live a simple, honest and faithful life.
