Winnifred A. Brazier, 86 of Friendship, died Sunday afternoon, June 1, 2014 at her daughter’s home. She was born, July 18, 1927 in Waldoboro, a daughter of the late Arthur W. and Sarah M. (Porter) Achorn. Winnie worked at GTE Sylvania in Waldoboro for thirty-six years retiring in 1985. She enjoyed decorating cakes and working in her gardens. She will be remembered as a hard worker and a kindhearted person who would always do things to help another person. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Helen Simmons, Mary Simmons, Nathalie Ross, Velma Smith and David Achorn. Winnie is survived by, four children: Betty Lou Armstrong and her husband Scott of Friendship, Edgar R. Simmons and his wife Michelle of Bowdoin, Inez Wincapaw and her husband David of Waldoboro, and Emily Glidden and her husband Ronald of Waldoboro; nine grandchildren: Randall “Bubba” C. Lee, II and his wife Laurie of Friendship, Jason A. Lee and his wife Crystal of Friendship, Marisa Murray and her husband Winfield “Rusty” R. III of Waldoboro, Edgar R. Simmons II and his wife Susan of Jefferson, James R. Simmons and his wife Jill of Friendship, Lisa Macquire and her husband Richard of Waldoboro, Angela Gilbert and her husband Aaron of Brunswick, Michael L. Wile of Windsor, and Shawna Kurr and her husband Jeremy of Nobleboro; twenty-one great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter; a brother, Arnold Achorn and his wife Alcy of Waldoboro.
