Willie L. Bill Williams of St. James passed away Saturday April 11, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in St. James, following a lengthly illness. He was 90 Years and 12 days of age.
Mr. Williams was born March 30, 1925 in Qulin, Missouri, the son of the late Elbert Judge and Lucinda Wheat Williams.
Bill Williams was united in marriage to Alvina Vini Georgia Kiortses. They were united in marriage September 17, 1955 in St. Louis, Mo.
Mr. Williams served his country in WW II in the Army. After the military he attended Watch and Radio school. Mr. Williams and his family moved to Rolla from St. Louis where they owned many business’s in St. James and Rolla. They owned the Continental Raceway, which eventually was changed to The Esquire Cue Club. They then moved The Esquire Cue Club to St. James, owned the Street Car Cafe, owned and operated Vini’s Kitchen in Rolla for 5 years. Mr. Williams never let hardwork stop him. If something needed fixed or remodeled Bill took care of it. Bill with the help of his family remodeled the Lenox Cleaners Building. In the process of remodeling it the front of the building fell off. Everyone told Bill it couldn’t be fixed but Bill fixed it and operated it as the Country Kitchen Restaurant for over 15 years. Vini was the cook, Vickie and Pat were the waitresses and Rich was the dish washer. Bill kept the building together. He will be sadly miss by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Williams is survived by one son: Rick Williams and his wife Joyce of Rolla, Mo.; two daughers: Vickie Vandiver of Rolla, Mo., and Pat Lewis and companion: Randy Buehrlen of Rolla, Mo. along with six grandchildren: Anthony and Nicholas Vandiver, Andy Lewis, Toby Buehrlen, Alex and Lucas Williams and two great-grandchildren: Lilli Buehrlen and Malleri Lewis.
Bill Williams is preceded in death by his wife: Alvina Vini (Kiortses) Williams on January 19, 2008; parents: Elbert Judge and Lucinda Wheat Williams; one brother: Francis Boyd Williams; and one sister: Mae Abbott.
