William Franklin Soper, Jr.
William Franklin “Frank” Soper, Jr. 79, a resident of Olney, MD, died suddenly at his home on Friday, May 30, 2014. Frank was born July 9, 1934 in Clarksburg, Maryland to the late William Franklin Soper, Sr. and Mary Belle Davis Soper. He was a graduate of Richard Montgomery High School, and earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Commercial Science at Benjamin Franklin University after serving with the United States Air Force in the Panama Canal Zone. Frank held accounting positions with the US Department of Agriculture, The National Institutes of Health, and Montgomery College. Frank was a lifelong member of the Masonic order serving as Worshipful Master twice at Kensington-Bethesda Lodge 198, and holding leadership roles at the Grand Masonic Lodge of Maryland. He achieved the highest honor of Masonry as a 33rd degree recipient, conferred by the Scottish Rite.
