William “Bill ” Leo Turnbough of Steelville, MO passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 in his home at the age of 79 years. He was born May 13, 1933 in Dillard, Missouri to Thurber Turnbough and Lillie Sellers Turnbough. On October 31, 1953 in St. Louis, he was united in marriage to Kaye Eileen Lindsey and to this union five children were born.
Bill worked for several years in St. Louis at Hussman Refrigeration and later retiring from the Crawford County Road District #2. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Cherryville and was a deacon and drove the church bus.
He worked as a 4-H leader for sixteen years. He enjoyed his horses, winning championships in barrel racing and other activities and shod horses throughout the country side. In the last several years, he enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of almost sixty years, Kaye Turnbough of Steelville, MO; two sons, John and Don Turnbough of Steelville, MO; two daughters, Sandy Orr and husband Mike of Cherryville, MO and Susan Bogert and husband Charles of Cedar Hill, MO; eight grandchildren, Katie, Billy, JoAnna, Kristen, Brandy, Jake, Jessie and Alan; three great-grandchildren, Liam, Eydie and Lucy; one sister, Zelma Callahan and husband Vondel of Davisiville, MO; one sister-in-law, Rosalene Turnbough of Davisville, MO; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, William “Bill” Turnbough, Jr.; two brothers, Willard and Jake Turnbough; one sister, Wilma Todd and husband Riley; and one grand-daughter, Bobbie Sue;
The Family received friends from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Cherryville, MO.
Honored to be casket bearers were Otis Coleman, John Halbert, Johnny Halbert, Blake Haffer, Dillon Parry and Buddy Reno.
