William “Bill” H. Staggenborg, 77, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Frene Valley Health Center, Hermann.
Mr. Staggenborg was born in St. Louis, Missouri on July 13, 1933, the son of the late Joseph and Emma E. (Nolte) Staggenborg.
He was the widower of Verna (Vogel) Staggenborg. They were married October 1, 1955 at Arnold, Missouri, she preceded him in death on November 2, 1993.
He was a member of St. George Church, Hermann, Missouri, the Knights of Columbus, Hermann Lions Club, the Missouri Limestone Association and he was a former member of the Hermann Eagles. He proudly served in the U.S. Army.
He owned and operated Staggenborg Material which included Big Spring, New Haven & Hermann Quarries. He was also a farmer his whole life.
William is survived by a son Joseph Staggenborg & special friend Becky Stack of Hermann, daughter Janet Edler & special friend Ralph Zuroweste of Hermann, a sister Kathryn Murray & husband Leonard of Arnold, a brother John Staggenborg & wife Judy of Imperial, Missouri, former son-in-law Jesse Edler Sr. & wife Cathy of Hermann, granddaughter Julia Carroll of Gerald, grandson Jesse Edler, Jr. of Hermann, and two great grandchildren Dawson & Daytona Carroll, and also by many nieces and nephews.
