Walter Elliott Wood, 93, of Steelville, MO, formerly of Florissant, MO passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at the Cedar Crest Nursing Home in Washington, MO. He was born May 11, 1914 to Richard R. and Anna Nerva (Henslee) Wood. On February 14, 1940 he was united in marriage to Mary Ann (Mayberry) Wood who survives.
In addition to his wife of sixty-seven years, he will be sadly missed by two sons, Gary Wood and wife Anne of Manchester, MA, Philip Wood of Woodacre, CA; two sisters, Rosella Skaggs of Berryman, MO and Pauline Smith of Steelville, MO; one sister-in-law, Alice Wood of Berryman, MO; three grandchildren, Daniel, Geoffrey, and Caroline; other relatives and friends. His parents, three brothers, Bud Wood, Fred Wood and Hyle Wood, preceded him in death.
Walter was retired from the Time DC Trucking Co. after 35 years. He enjoyed making bird houses, watching birds and the St. Louis Cardinals and listening to music. Walter attended the Church of Christ in Florissant, MO. He loved his family and friends and will be missed by all.
