Wally Huber Schweighauser, 103, passed away peacefully at her home in Nobleboro on Friday, April 22, 2016. At the time of her passing, she was Nobleboro’s oldest citizen, holding the Golden Cane. Born in Basel, Switzerland, on September 3, 1912, Wally lived an amazing life. In 1937, at the age of 25, she moved to Canada with her husband Hans Schweighauser and homesteaded in the wilderness about 150 miles north of Montreal for ten years. During that time, she gave birth to four children: Hans, Maurice, Delly, and Bernard.
