Virginia Mae Samson, age 89, longtime resident of Hibbing and formerly of Richfield, MN, died Saturday, February 15, 2014, in the Guardian Angels Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hibbing. She was born April 4, 1924, in Hibbing the daughter of John and Nettie (Sanders) Samson. She graduated from Hibbing High School.
Virginia worked for Lerch Brothers, and then for 28 years as the head switchboard operator at the VA hospital in Minneapolis, and also for the Radisson Hotel. She was a member of the Hope Presbyterian Church in Richfield, and the First Presbyterian Church in Hibbing. Virginia enjoyed reading, and cheering on the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.
Virginia is survived by her brother: Kenneth (Shirley) Samson of Hibbing, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother: LeRoy; and her sister: Jean Ardell Jacobson.
