Virginia P Crosby, 78, passed peacefully March 13, 2015, with loving family beside her. She was born in Wolfeboro, NH and attended college in Rhode Island where she met the love her life, Rufus “Red” Crosby. Living in Laconia they started their family of 6, Lenny, Al, Annette, Linda, David, and Scott. In 1968 the family moved to Maine where she became a nurse and worked at St Joseph’s manor in Portland. During her retirement she was a foster grandparent for 10 years at the Neo-Natal Unit at MMC in Portland, volunteered for many years with the MDA, was the President of the Women’s Eagles Auxiliary Club, and a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Portland. Grammy loved taking family photos and baking with her 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, especially her Snowman Cookies.
Her family would like to thank the staff of Coastal Manor of Yarmouth for their most gracious and compassionate care that could ever be given to an individual.
