Virgina, Megregian, who would have turned 102 years old in a couple of weeks, passed away May 19, 2016. Born in Romania on June 2, 1914, she was the daughter of Sahag and Aghavnie (Gregorian) Jevizian.Tragically, her mother passed away and little infant Virginia traveled across the world in her father’s arms from Romania and arrived in Detroit. Virginia received her education in the Detroit public schools and married George Kegham Megregian in 1930. Virgina became a devoted wife and mother. With dedication and nurturing, she raised her children. They enjoyed memorable years of picnics and family dinners together. She was a lady with faith and traditions, which moved her to volunteer in her church and community. She was a member of the St John Womens Guild, where she always helped in the kitchen for the Annual Bazaars. She made numerous friends at St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church, where she also helped in their kitchen for their Annual Bazaars as well. Throughout her life, Virginia enjoyed dancing at happy events, which helped to keep alive the traditions and customs of her heritage. ********************VIRGINIA MEGREGIAN Age 101 Beloved wife of the late George Kegham Megregian. Dearest grandmother of Matthew (Chris) Megregian, Jeanine (Paul) Barks, Aram Megregian, Gary (Laurie) Megregian, and great-grandmother of Sarah, Anne, Mason. Dear sister of Dr. Edward Jevizian, Ann Jevizian. Sister-in-law of Rose (The late Michael) Megregian. Also many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, relatives and friends. In State Monday 6pm to 9pm with Dan Gark prayers at 8pm in St John Armenian Church, 22001 Northwestern Hwy, Southfield.
