West Bath – Virginia Mae Mitchell formerly of West Bath, passed away at the Midcoast Senior Health Center on January 31, 2013.
Virginia was born on June 19, 1923 in Bath, Maine. She was a devoted christian who loved people, her family, friends, and church family, formerly “Living Waters Fellowship”. She was a housewife for many years with a great love of the outdoors, and being creative, she loved making funky art for her lawn.
In the 1970s she owned and operated an antique shop on Berry”s Mill Rd. in West Bath along side her husband. She worked at Stinson”s Canning company from 1977 to 1997, and also enjoyed candy making while living in Eustis, Florida in the 1950s.
Preceding her in death was her husband Alvin Mitchell in 1998.
She is survived by her son Everett Mitchell and wife Cindy. Her daughter Roxanne Lawley. Her daughter Patricia and husband Richard Nicholas. Grandchildren: Evelyn Varney, Joanne Murphy, Karen Shaver, Shannon MacDonald, Carl Wilson, Adam Lawley, and Lauren Hagan. Several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family wants to Thank all associated with her care from the Mid Coast Hospital and Mere Point, at the Midcoast Senior Health Center.
This is a wonderful transportation service for senior, handicap and wheelchair bound individuals.
