Portland – Virginia D. (DeGrasso) Baker, 91, of South Portland passed away on July 25, 2013 at the Maine Medical Center. Virginia was born on October 18, 1921 in Hillsdale, NY. She was the daughter of Charles and Pearl (Madison) DeGrasso.
Virginia grew up in Hillsdale and later moved to Tarrytown, NY where she worked as a bookkeeper for The Hackley School. Virginia moved to Maine in 1996 to be closer to her family. While in South Portland, she was an active member of the First Congregational Church.
Virginia is predeceased by her husband, Theodore “Teddy” Baker and a daughter, Betty Ann Liston. She is survived by her daughter, Susan P. Lang of Portland and granddaughter, Dr. Elizabeth Lang and her husband Fabeon Lebrun of San Antonio, TX.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff and Seaside Nursing Home for their care and compassion.
