Age 85, passed away on November 25, 2008. She was born on December 9, 1922 in Howard City the daughter of Elmer and Florence (Besemer) Sumner. Violet was a member of Portland United Methodist Church for many years. She graduated from Lansing Community College in 1969 with a degree in nursing and worked at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert ; sisters Doris, Ruth and Alice and her husband of 67 years, Milton “Mickey” Morgan in 2006. Surviving are children Rebecca (Jim) Schuitema, James (Tamara) Morgan and Scott (Debra) Morgan; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters Betty Beech and Lillian Peel; sister-in-law Joan Sumner.
