Obituary for Vincent Lewis | SUMMIT Funeral & Cremation

 United States

  • Date Of Birth: July 16, 1976
  • Date Of Death: April 20, 2022
  • State: Minnesota

On Wednesday, April 20, 2022, Vincent Eugene Lewis transitioned at the age of 45. The world has lost a great son, brother, father, and grandfather. He left a great impression on us all. His “Circle of Life” will never truly end.

Vincent was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on July 16, 1976. He relocated to Minnesota on his own in search of a better life. Vincent was an exceptional basketball player. But his mother Lynden insisted that education always be his priority. Even though he probably would’ve been a comedian. Vincent attended The University of Tennessee State on a full ride academic and athletic scholarship. Vincent always dreamed of being the greatest architect of his time.

If you asked Vincent, his greatest accomplishment wasn’t his basketball legacy or his education. It was being a father and grandfather. Vincent is survived by his daughters Brianna, Destiny, Veasia, and Kalista. His grandchildren, Levon Jr, Aniyla, Zyaire, and Airess. His brother Eugene, sisters, Victoria, Christa, and Cheri. He was preceded in death by his father Eugene Lewis SR and mother Lynden Lewis Smith. Vincent requested not to have a service for him but to celebrate his life as we all knew him smiling. May you Rest in Power!

You can shed tears that he is gone,
or you can smile because he has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that he’ll come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all he’s left.
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember him only that he is gone,
or you can cherish his memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back.
Or you can do what he’d want:
smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
