“My Candle burns at both ends;

It will not last the night;

But ah, my foes and, oh my friends –

It gives a lovely light!”

Edna St. Vincent Millay

Portland, Maine – Victoria L. Thistle, 30, of Old Orchard Beach, died unexpectedly on January 10, 2014 at Maine Medical Center following a lifelong battle. She was born in Portland on April 26, 1983, the daughter of Linda J. Thomes and Roy E. Thistle.

Tori grew up in Gray/New Gloucester and attended the high school there, class of 2001. After High School Tori began working with the public and especially enjoyed working with both young people and the elderly. She cherished her time working at Falmouth by the Sea. Tori held many jobs in this field and regardless of whom she helped or who she worked for, she always gave 100 % of herself. Tori always put others first, even before her own needs.

Tori enjoyed many activities including hiking and fishing. She also loved to bake and do crafts with her son Declan.

Family and friends meant the world to Tori and were the most important part of her short life. Besides her parents, Tori is survived by her son Declan Anthony Germano, and brother Harold E. Hibbard IV. She is also survived by many uncles, aunts, and cousins, including a special Great Uncle and Aunt, Jay & Rainy Levine of Old Orchard Beach who were there at the time of Tori’s greatest need.
