Victor R. Werth, age 71, longtime resident of Kelly Lake died Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at his apartment in Hermantown. He was born February 6, 1946, in Hibbing the son of Harry and Etta (Nohrenberg) Werth. He graduated from Hibbing High School. A Veteran of the United States Army, Victor served during the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Ruth Marie Kerr on November 25, 1967, at the Kelly Lake Methodist Church.
Victor worked for 29 years at US Steel as a locomotive driver and later as a shovel operator. Following his retirement he worked as an over-the-road truck driver, and then as a delivery driver for Sullivan Supply. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Victor is survived by his daughter: Ruth (Chad Heibel) Estrella of Duluth; siblings: Connie (Al) Dropps of Hibbing, Rosetta (Tom) Rynes of Chisholm, and Darrel Werth of Collingdale, PA; two granddaughters: Sarah (Alex Lah) Sanchez and Melissa (Kelly Secrest) Sanchez; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Dorothy; his great-granddaughter: Quail Sanchez; and siblings: Dale, Steve and Myra.
