Victor Manuel Quintero (Papi), (90) passed away on April 8, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was the eldest son of the late Puno Quintero and Herminia Lalinde and stepson of Alberto Lalinde, beloved brother to Astrid Panameno, Esther Vail, Omaira Green, Patricia Cruz, Connie Velasquez, Belisario Lalinde and Paul Lalinde and brother-in-law of Elena Pereira de Pantano. His dad passed away when Victor was only three. From his early youth, Victor had various jobs to help provide for his siblings.
For years Victor thought of coming to the US to give himself and his family a better future. He emigrated from Bogota, Colombia to Boston in 1966 when he was 36. His wife and children joined him in Boston in 1967. Victor had a myriad of jobs to provide for his family. He was a mechanic by trade and also worked as a painter, teacher, plumber, maintenance man and delivered the daily news, Las Americas and El Mundo in his new country.
From his early years, Papi was a family man with deep faith.
