Vernon Leo Epple, 85, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Frene Valley Health Center, Hermann.

Mr. Epple was born in Little Berger, Missouri on June 23, 1925, the son of the late George and Ida (Glatz) Epple.

He was the husband of Helen Christina (LaBoube) Epple. They were married July 1, 1944 at St. Joseph’s Church, Little Berger, MO, she survives in Hermann.

Vernon is also survived by three daughters Elaine LaBoube & husband Kenneth of Beaufort, Missouri, Linda Parsons & husband Terry of Stover, Missouri and Geralyn Gloe & husband James of Fulton, Missouri, a sister Eunice Epple of Hermann, a brother George Epple & wife Barbara of Hermann, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Glennon & Leroy Epple.

He was a member of St. George Church, Hermann, Missouri and the Hermann V.F.W. Post 4182. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.

He was a farmer and also worked 20 years for the Department of Agriculture as a reporter for the ASCS office in Owensville.
