Mrs. Wohlscheid was a member of the Portland United Methodist Church for many years, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star (holding various offices at the county level), and was a Girl Scout Leader. Verna did the bookwork for Municipal Supply Company for over 30 years, and she enjoyed golf, bowling and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Howard Wohlscheid of Portland; children, Lisa (David) Fitzpatrick of Ionia and Brian (Nancy) Wohlscheid of Portland; 5 grandchildren, Lindsay and Ethan Fitzpatrick, and Daniel, Blake and Graham Wohlscheid.
