Velma Laverne Jeffries, 82, formerly of Piedmont, MO, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at her residence in Raymore, MO. She was born November 25, 1939, to parents James and Audrey (Morris) Tucker. 

Velma enjoyed hunting and fishing. In her younger years she was an avid fisher and hunter and was well known as “Shotgun Annie”. Her last few years she spent being available at all times to her daughter, Cheryl Quillman, as well as the last few months enjoying time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Velma was a great seamstress working out of her home in LeMay. She owned her own ceramic business where she painted, sold her art and won awards with her skill.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of forty-five years Arthur Jeffries; daughter: Cheryl Quillman; brothers: James Tucker Jr. and Melvin Tucker; sister: Ruby Marie Dewringer ; great grandson: Reign Kinchen Harter. 

Velma is survived by her children: Audrey Derham and husband Mike of Raymore, MO, and Cindy Dawn of Salt Lake City, UT; brothers: Lindell Tucker and Norman Tucker, both of Farmington, Sister:Janet Sutterfield of St. Louis, MO; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Velma will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
