He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Virgil, James and Leonard; sisters Viola Harr and Marcella Wacker; sisters-in-law Regina Thelen, Marie Schneider-Goodman, Julia Spitzley; brothers-in-law Urban Rademacher, Rev. Raymond Rademacher, Walter Harr, Leo Wacker, Russ Linabery, Harold Schneider, Elon Goodman and Ronald Spitzley. He is survived by Esther, his wife of 65 years; children Gerald U. Thelen of Fowler, Dennis V. Thelen of Houston, TX, Ronald L. (Krystyna) Thelen of Holt and MaryAnn (Timothy) Kwast of Grand Ledge; grandchildren Matthew D. Kwast, Emily A. Kwast and Joseph R. Kwast; brothers and sisters-in-law Louis (Gladys) Rademacher, Doris Linabery, William (Elida) Rademacher of New Mexico and Theresa Rademacher, Rita Thelen, Jeannette Thelen and many nieces and nephews.
