Troy A. Pendley Sr. of St. James, Mo. formerly of St. Louis City, passed away at the Missouri Veteran’s Home on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. He was 81 years, 11 months, and 3 days of age.
Troy Pendley was born on Aug 28, 1931 at Corona, Alabama to his parents Jesse and Elva (Pendley) Pendley.
He was united in marriage to Betty Watkins on March 12, 1959 at St. Louis, Mo.
Troy A. Pendley is survived by his wife Betty Pendley of St. James. Sons: Thomas Joseph Pendley of Bonne Terre, Mo; Thomas T. Pendley of O’Fallon, Mo and Troy A. Pendley Jr. of Bonne Terre, Mo. Daughters: Mary Frances Gann and husband Brian of St. James and Debra Marie Haungs and husband Terry of St. Louis. Sisters: Inez Finn of Alabama and Irene Homyer of Edwardsville, Illinois. He is further survived by 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Catherine Perry Pendley, one sister Grace McGlufflin and one great-grandchild Tony (T.J) Giaechina, Jr.
Troy A. Pendley Sr. was a retired St. Louis City Fire Fighter for 28 1/2 years and worked for the St. Louis County Fire Fighter for 3 years. Mr. Pendley was presented with many heroic rescue awards and was honored from the governor’s office several times. He was a veteran of the Korean War and held memberships in V.F.W., the St. Louis Masonic Triangle Lodge #638 A.F & A.M., having served as Past Master. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Elks Lodge of Deslodge, Mo and was a Life member of the Eagles Lodge # 4210 also Troy was a 32nd Degree Mason.
