August 29, 2013
Timothy Robert Tarbox, 51 of Biddeford, peacefully left this world on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough with wonderful support and love from his family.
Many times in the last year and a half, Tim would read about someone who had passed away after “battling” with cancer, but he never thought of his journey as a battle. He enjoyed every day he had remaining with the bravest of attitude and was a hero to many with his kind and peaceful spirit.
He was born in Biddeford, Maine on September 27, 1961, a son of Robert and Anne Tarbox. He graduated from Biddeford High School class of 1980. Tim joined the Navy in 1980 and then lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico and San Francisco, California for many years. Recently he was employed at Botto’s Bakery in South Portland. He loved being a baker and took pride in his work. He worked at various bakeries from Maine to New Mexico and California.
He loved to read and spent many hours in book shops and libraries. He loved to collect books and enjoyed collecting music. Last October he got to see one of his favorite musicians, Bob Dylan with front row seats in Berkeley, CA. He was a long distance runner and ran the Maine Coast Marathon and the Boston Marathons.
He was preceded in death by his mother Anne Elizabeth Tarbox of Portland. He is survived by his father, Robert Leroy Tarbox of Buxton, his son Anthony Correa of Rochester, NH, sister, Sara Tarbox of San Francisco, CA, niece Josephina and nephew Charlie of San Francisco, CA, and cousin Theresa Valliere of Dayton, ME and many other family and friends.
