TAUNTON – Thomas J. Donnelly, husband of Veronica P. (Lima) Donnelly, died at his Taunton home on Jan. 29, 2011.
He was 73.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of Maria (Boivin) Donnelly and the late Thomas E. Donnelly.
He was a lifelong Taunton resident, and a 1955 graduate of MSG James Coyle High School.
Mr. Donnelly enjoyed a successful career in sales for over 40 years and formed his own company, T. J. Donnelly & Associates, 20 years ago.
Mr. Donnelly coached in the Taunton Youth Hockey Program for many years, and was an avid supporter of Coyle & Cassidy, and St. Sebastian’s hockey teams.
An active communicant of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish Church, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the New England Housewares Club.
He was an avid golfer and devoted family man who especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending his grandson’s hockey games.
Besides his wife and mother, both of Taunton, he leaves a son, Thomas J. Donnelly and his wife Ruth of Medway; two daughters, Dawn M. Poole and her husband Kenneth of Taunton, and Kelly J. Maw and her husband Wayne of S. Middleboro; two brothers, Joseph W. Donnelly and his wife Eileen, and Louis R. Donnelly all of Taunton; five sisters, Maria H. Cramer and her husband Richard of Rialto, CA, Cecile D. Hersh and Rita M. Camara, both of Taunton, Anne Louise M. MacLean of Brockton, and Lorraine T. Lopes of Wareham.
He was also the brother of the late Philip L. Donnelly.
He was the beloved grandfather of Emily and Gordon Donnelly of Medway, and Natalie and Hailey Maw of S. Middleboro.
He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Friday, Feb. 4th at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
