Theresa “Terri” Schatzschneider, age 89, of Sebring, Florida (formerly of Denton, Maryland), peacefully passed away at her home surrounded by her family on October 12, 2022.  She was born January 10, 1933, in Baltimore, Maryland to John and Agnes Gesina.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother.  She and her husband, John, were married on September 9, 1950, and he passed away on May 18, 2015. She is survived by her five children, Linda Simmons (Kenny), Debi Schatzschneider-Hodges (Duree), Cindy Schatzschneider (Paul), Sandy Patterson (Walter) and John Schatzschneider, III (Rhonda), her 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Terri and John started Clayton Farms in 1977 in Denton, Maryland. The family business continues today with the third generation running the day-to-day operations.  Terri also enjoyed participating in the Farmer’s Market in Denton at the Courthouse Green and St. Luke’s Church where she and John made many friends, who happened to also be customers.  Terri was a very active member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 29 serving in many positions, however, most notably serving as President of Unit 29, Maryland District President, and awarded an honorary lifetime membership.  Terri made lifelong friends through the American Legion Auxiliary and considered the American Legion, Post 29 a “second home”.

Once she moved to Sebring, Florida, Terri looked forward to attending Bingo at the community center twice a week.  When in Maryland, on occasion, you could find her at Harrington Casino where she enjoyed playing the slot machines.
