Obituary
Sylvester G. Otke passed away on March 26, 2018 at the age of 96. He is survived by his beloved wife of 76 years, Amber Otke nee Meyer of O’Fallon, MO; 2 daughters, Judy (Steven) Mutchler of Saint Louis, MO, Sylva Neubauer of St. Louis, MO; son, Steve (Deborah Wagganer) Otke of Gerald, MO; 4 grandchildren, Rick Neubauer of Chicago, IL, Dan Mutchler of St. Louis, MO, Shellie Neubauer of Ft. Collins, CO, and Kacey (Will Carpenter) Mutchler of Chicago, IL; He is preceded in death by his father, Frank George Otke, mother, Susan Otke, 1 sister, 2 nieces. Syl was an active member of Grace Bible Church in Warrenton, he was involved as a greeter for several years, on the building committee and men’s prayer group. Syl enjoyed wood working, carving birds, building furniture, enjoyed the outdoors. He worked for 32 years at McDonnel Douglas after he served our country in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He cherished 76 years of marriage to his wife Amber. They had many fond memories of trips they enjoyed together. Syl was a loving husband, dad and grandpa. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
