Susan Laurette Twite – Giorgi

Susan Laurette Twite – Giorgi was born November 22, 1959 in St. Paul, Minnesota the daughter of G. Mons and Phyllis (Saltness) Twite. Her family moved to Willow River and then Rush City where she graduated from high school in 1978. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1983. Susan was a talented obstetrics nurse at St. Mary’s in Duluth for a number of years and later accepted a nurse management position in Chisholm. In 2012, she earned her Master’s of Science Degree in Nursing Administration from Excelsior College. She most recently worked as the Quality Improvement Coordinator for Essentia Health. She was passionate about providing quality care and known for her integrity and work ethic.

In September 1984, Susan and Charles Ramberg were married in Moose Lake. They had two children, Krista and Julia. In October of 2009, Susan and Richard Giorgi were married in Virginia where they lived happily with their cat, Remus, and their dogs, Goldy and Grace.

Susan was energized by her medical career and an active member of her community and church, Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran in Virginia. She served as the Stewardship Chair of the Church Council and sang alto in the Joyful Noise! choir.

Throughout her life, Susan celebrated and pursued the creation of beautiful things.

Sue is survived by her husband Richard “Rico”, children: Krista (Chris) Johnsen of Eden Prairie, Julia (Chris) Palmquist of West St. Paul, Adam Giorgi of Minneapolis, Elizabeth Giorgi of Denver, Colorado, brother: Michael (Patricia) Twite of Grand Rapids, stepmother: Mary Kay Twite of New Braunfels, Texas and many other family members and dear friends. Susan was an insightful, strong and an incredibly compassionate woman. We grieve her loss and celebrate the memories we shared with her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, G. Mons Twite and Phyllis Bohaty as well as her stepfather, James Bohaty.

Susan died peacefully at St. Mary’s hospital Friday evening at 56 years of age.
