Steven Paul Case, 64, of Delano, MN passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 21, 2023 after a short battle with cancer. He left this world in his home with family by his side.
Steve was born on August 15, 1958 to Ross and Anna Marie (Fox) Case in Watertown, SD. After graduating from Watertown High School in 1977, he went on to serve his country in the US Navy submarine fleet. For the past 18 years, Steve was self-employed as a general contractor, owning and operating Thumbs Up Home Maintenance.
Steve touched many lives through his singing hobby. He was a long-time member of the Barbershop Harmony Society, actively singing in several choruses & quartets over the years. Steve won multiple international medals with the Great Northern Union Chorus and won a District Championship as the bass of Trademark quartet. Most recently, Steve sang with the mixed voice acapella ensemble, Mixed Company Singers, and Journeymen Chorus, a newly formed men’s chorus with barbershop roots.
Those who knew Steve remember him for his generosity, unique sense of humor, and kind heart. Friends and neighbors counted on him to lend his skills as a contractor and handyman whenever the need arose. Always ready with a clever comment, where Steve went, laughter often followed. Steve loved people, and could strike up a conversation with anyone, at any time.
He was a man of strong faith, openly sharing his beliefs with those around him, and leading many souls to the Lord.
Steve is survived by his wife of 5 ½ years, Lisa Kvigne Case; adult children Connor and Molly Case of Cincinnati, OH; brothers David (Sala) Case of Kent, WA and Robert Case of Rapid City, SD; sister Kathy (Keith) Hardina of Waubay Lake, SD; former wife Kim Moen (mother of his children); nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his late wife Diane and his parents.
Special thanks to Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, MN & Ridgeview Hospice for the excellent care Steve received.
