Age 83, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2012. He was born on March 17, 1929 in Rochester, MI the son of Stephen and Hazel (Millen) Kenter, the 7th of their 11 children. Mr. Kenter worked for 33 1/2 years for the State Hospital and Corrections Departments. Stephen was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Germany. He loved hunting, woodworking and tending to his garden. Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Robert Kenter; sisters, Gail Kenter, Esther Morrison, Doris Aldridge, Phyllis DuBois, and Edith Reynolds. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Katherine Kenter of Orleans; children, Diane (Charles) Helmholdt of Cascade, and Wayne (Sylvia) Kenter of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Nicholas (Ashley) Helmholdt of Ann Arbor, and Anthony Helmholdt of Chicago; siblings, Edna Hatfield of Florida, Myrtle Schmidt of Minnesota, Ivan Kenter of Ohio, and Lawrence Kenter of Hubbardston.
