Spencer Brian Bean

April 7, 1976

April 14, 2014

Portland – Spencer Bean passed away peacefully on April 14, 2014 at the age of 38. Spencer was born with cystic fibrosis and received a double-lung transplant in 1996, one of the first living-donor lung transplants in the country. His devoted mother, Sharon Bearor, and his aunt, Jean Bearor, were the donors.

Spencer was many things to many people. A beloved son. A dependable and caring brother-in-law. An engineer. A terrific cook. A terrible speller. A proud brother of Pi Kappa Alpha. An annual participant and organizer of his backyard Home BrewFest. An all-purpose, all-knowing IT guru. But most important to Spencer, he was a dad to two beautiful girls, Ellasyn Lawrence Bean and Scarlett Spencer Bean, and a devoted husband to his one true love, Erin Bean. Ellasyn and Scarlett have Spencer’s eyes, they have his smile, and they have his soul, but, most importantly, they had him, even if it was for only a brief time.

Spencer also leaves behind his father, Brian Bean, his step-mother Lisa Bean, and his brother and sister, Adrian and Olivia Bean. It was from Brian that Spencer inherited his love for nature, adventure, and story-telling.

Finally, Spencer leaves behind a bevy of beautiful babes and best buds who cherished every moment with him and were made better by his presence. To know Spencer was to love him, and a lot of people knew Spencer.
