Sophie “Stana” Terzich Robinson, age 88 of Hibbing died Monday, October 20, 2014 at her home, in the care of hospice. She was born December 16, 1925 in Poole Location, the daughter of Dan and Mary (Jaksich) Terzich and was a graduate of Hibbing High school. Sophie married Keith Elton Robinson on January 20, 1946 and was a lifelong Hibbing resident. She worked as a meat cutter at the family business, Terzich Market in Kelly Lake for over 30 years. Sophie was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Hibbing, serving in many capacities including: the United Presbyterian Women, the Chancel Choir, the “matriarch of the kitchen”, and the “P.I.T.S.” Youth Group; she was a former member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Shrine Auxiliary; and enjoyed the couples’ bridge group. Sophie was a talented cook and baker; she enjoyed knitting, crafts, and volunteering in her church and her community.
Sophie is survived by son: Dale (Jackie) Robinson of Chisholm, daughter: Suzan Robinson of Hibbing; granddaughters: Heather (Abe) Mathews of Knoxville, TN and Erin (Mark) Kessinger of Council Bluffs, IA; sister: Julie Altuvilla of Hibbing; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Keith; brothers: Mike, Louis, Joe, Dushan, Peter, and Bob and sisters: Dorothy, Luba, and Annie.
