She retired from the Michigan Department of Corrections and was a member of the Sault Sainte Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. Shirley passed at a young age but had a full life. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Richard Majinska. Surviving are her parents, Shirley Mae Nichols, and Melvin Biang; children, Danelle (Ryan) Carigon, and Terri (Eric) Carigon; 2 grandchildren, Leighton, and Danielle; 6 sisters, Elizabeth Majinska, Linda (Howard) Shearer, Rene Kerns, Deborah White, Caroline Biang, and Nanette Biang.
