       Shelly Dokken passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, March 14, 2017.

      Shelly Kay Ziska was born on August 24, 1973 to Wayne and Monica (Budd) Ziska at the Roseau Area Hospital. Shelly grew up 3 miles southwest of Roseau and graduated in 1991 from Roseau High School.

       Shelly and Mike Boppre were united in marriage on August 10, 1992 at the Rose Free Lutheran Church in Roseau, MN. To this union a beautiful daughter, Kayla Ann Boppre was born on March 1, 1994. She is Shelly’s pride and joy.

       On June 12, 2010 Shelly and Darby Dokken were united in marriage at the Penturen Church in the Pines, of Beltrami Island State Forest. They have made their home in Beltrami State Island Forest for the past 2 1/2 years. She was employed by Polaris Industries as a Central Planner and was very devoted to her job.

      Shelly and Darby love life in the woods.

      Shelly had a heart of gold, she was always quick to lend a hand, no questions asked. She always put others first.

      Shelly is survivied by her loving husband and best friend Darby Dokken, Daughter Kayla (Tyrin) Hagen of Grygla, MN, Granddaughter  Jemma Hagen of Grygla, MN, Stepsons Michael Boppre Jr. (fiance’ Judy Short) of East Grand Forks, MN and Billy Boppre of Reno, NV. Stepdaughter Anna Reid (fiance’ Brandon Wappula) of Thief River Falls, MN. Parents Wayne and Monica Ziska of Beltrami Island State Forest, Grandmother Marlene Budd of Roseau, MN. Parent In-laws David and Debbie Dokken of Greenbush, MN. Brother Shane (Melanie) Ziska of Wannaska, MN. Goddaughter Kodie Ziska of Wannaska, MN.  Godparents Robert and Sharon Lofstedt of Hutchinson, MN. Several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.

    Shelly is proceeded in death by Grandparents Clara and Ed Ziska and Laverne Budd, Great Grandparents Dewey and Tillie Budd, Uncles Darrell Brawders and Jerome Johnson, Great Uncle Donald Zak and Cousins Mike Lofstedt and Brian Lunde.

    We shall always remember her smile, love and kindness which she extended to all. May God bless the memories of Shelly.
